Free-market enthusiasts like to point out that #capitalism is really good att generating wealth. Sure, but that's not the main priority. Those are to 1) survive without messing up the environment, 2) feed, house, clothe, educate etc. everyone, globally. Capitalism counteracts these higher priorities.

Unfettered capitalism has done the literal *opposite* of generating wealth in the west in recent decades. It's made a few *individuals* very wealthy, but on the whole western economies have done very badly at even keeping people at the levels they were at in the '70s, not to mention expanding their economic situation.

And the fewer fetters on the capitalism, the worse the outcomes.

Well, we do not have «unfetted» capitalism. We have a system of centrally planned rates with monetary expansion that caters to a few cantillionaires close to the money printer. That does not sound like capitalism to me.
