I've been feeling a bit stuck lately. I really need to shake things up, get back on track.
What techniques work best for you to get yourself out of a rut?

Change is painful and awkward. Look for discomfort and tackle it.
Even if the experience is not what you hoped, you will deserve the credit for stepping outside your rut.
This is some great advice. Thank you.
Seasonal changes naturally keep me out of ruts. Probably is a lifestyle thing though, no office job here
Move your body. Go for long walks, a run, a bike ride, lift some weights
Nature. Climb a hill. Do something new for you. I did ice skating for the first time last week. Breath of fresh air.
Vacation if you can. Get away even if it is only for a little bit of time. Go somewhere new.
That would be nice but not viable at the moment. Work is just busy enough to keep me tied down
I like to meditate on exactly what's giving me pause. Not just thinking about what's wrong, but just holding the idea in your mind, alone, without jumping to another thought. It gives me a chance to think about the root issue rather than spend my time circling around distracting, spiraling thoughts.
I used to do a lot more tarot readings and related journaling, which helped me a lot too. A Celtic Cross with Biddy Tarot interpretations is a good one.
Then there's the perspective of finding what you really want to do and taking a step, no matter how small, in that direction. The first step is an anchor that makes each subsequent one easier, but is the hardest one to set down.
Thanks, Jay. I should probably makes some time to organize my thoughts & analyzing them. My mind is chaos.
I normally need to let my head clear out so I can see/feel the priorities. Unfortunately, that normally means eliminating the major time sucks on the internet: social media, news, and videos ... in that order.
That's probably a good idea lol
Iβm going through a massive change right now. Sometimes it can be hard to stay positive or get inspired. Connect with people in real life. Write out goals and put time limits on them. Challenge yourself to do something new and outside of your comfort zone. Youβll never know what youβre capable of until you try it. ππ«
Thank you π« I'm in this weird spot where it feels like change is eminent but it's just not happening, so surely its my own fault in some way. I wish life would just rip the bandaid off so I can get on with it.
It's good to know we're not alone on these winds of change. I hope you land just where you're aiming. π
Something that really help me was to replace some non-vital things like :
- time on the phone, socials, emails, TV Show, movies ...
by activities that improve focus and peace of mind, like :
- walking, grounding, journaling, writing ideas on paper, meditating, breathing techniques, going out with friends to talk ...
Basically less screen time and more IRL & healthy stuff. Always get me back on track.
stop taking any drugs, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, no cannabis, no nothin.
take really really really long walks for no particular reason. being pissed off can help tho.
Meditating and doing chores.
nice
sleeping vertically is the best
That sounds tricky!
Yea it's best done when tired and a nap is not wanted. A couple minutes or even 15 and you're good lol.
Walking works best for me...10K steps a day
