I wonder how much pollution the fiat militaries of the world are actually responsible for. It could easily be 1% of total global pollution. Probably more.
Discussion
A lot of it is seriously toxic too. They have a long history of being one of the worst offenders
If you account for the supply chains behind militaries, all their direct toxic waste and waste products, decommissioned equipment/vehicles and weapons, munitions testing; the total amount of pollution they create is unfathomable.
Yeah, but we need them to police all the polluters of the world.
Exactly. The politicians constantly scold the world about pollution and CaRbOn but by far the biggest contributors are their enforcers.
1%? How far back are we going? WWII?
Since 1913 was the true birth of fiat that would make sense.
I found a source that says militaries contribute an estimated 5.5% of total greenhouse gases annually. So if thatās a proxy for total pollution contribution, then they are doing more than I thought.
I donāt consider carbon pollution, but all the other toxic shit and physical waste produced by militaries has got to be absolutely massive. Now I think it could be well in excess of 1%.
So all the governments of the world could reduce carbon emissions by ā5.5% collectively tomorrow by ceasing their war machines⦠interesting
I think two nukes probably ups that percentage. And then if you include NASA in āmilitaryāā¦
Plus weapon testing
Well imagine all the nuclear testing. Easily thousands of tests.
Yeah, itās a lot of pollution.
Yeah and none of the hardcore virtue signalerās who buy EVs care that the vehicles arenāt possible without mass scale child slave labor.
The same people who wear shirts that say āprotect trans kids!!!!ā š¤£š„“
Nothing to see here. Eat ze bugs to reduce your carbon footprintā¦
The extreme pollution from military is insane. Nuclear waste and toxic burn pits.
