Give up the chiro imo, does more harm than good. What helped me recover was doing more aerobic work between the heavier jobs. Like, even something like splitting fire wood with an axe between bucking up logs with the chainsaw. Bending over with the saw is absolutely brutal on my back. Splitting some quality oak or hardwood gets you moving in all the right places and loosens up those vertebrae better than a table adjustment.

I have a rack I hang from to do decompression but it hasn't helped this time that much. The foam roller helps some and the tens a little more. There are times where I just HAVE to get adjusted to release the tension in my spine and back.

For additional relief and mobility get a Pilates ball 3/4 fill with air and roll your stomach and pelvis. There is a lot of connective tissue that helps the back that you can only get from the stomach.
