If you are tech savvy, and can juggle git, ssh keys and gpg keys on your phone, laptop and desktop then passwordstore.org is the best.

It can do OTP also.

I’ll likely migrate off at some point. After they took venture funds and did weird stuff like acquiring other companies.. they lost their soul.

Venture funding inevitably destroys all.

and they just recently added telemetry that's opt-in by default, which just further rubs salt in the wound.

Yep. Telemetry… not everything needs it. Like seriously, talk to your users - don’t spy on them.

is 1password secure? i save most passwords there

It's easier to be confident in the security of a password manager when it's open source, since anyone can audit the code base themselves. 1Password is probably secure, but it's closed source which isn't ideal.

got it, agreed🤓

I've been using Bitwarden since LastPass became fully paid. On Android phone, better impossible!

Better than 1Pass in your opinion?security wise etc? I’ve thought on changing but finally haven’t done yet as I was not very confident on changing current one.. thanks

Yeah it's better and more secure for a number of reasons. It's open source and you can even self-host the server and client!

Thanks Andrew! Note taken

I switched to Bitwarden after LastPass got hacked.

Keepass for me precisely because it doesn’t have cloud syncing.

Bitwarden for my passwords and KeePassXC for my 2FA backups

I use pass. passwordstore.org

It is simple to understand and you can backup and sync however you're comfortable with. I don't use browser extentions, but they probably work fine.
