If a bounty is necessary to make that feature optional, I am willing to contribute. I sincerely believe this is a problem, and I am absolutely certain it will be abused.

By the way, when you report someone, you unintentionally censor that person for all your followers on Amethyst.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that this is a problem. Recognizing this problem will be a great first step.

So it doesn’t matter which client the report was submitted through, if I’m understanding that correctly? I saw some mention of that in another thread but I wasn’t clear on that. And yes, it is quite easy to see how this will be gamed by bad actors and trolls. Needs to be fixed so at a minimum Amethyst users who don’t want it can turn it off without having to switch to an entirely different client.

I believe the simplest solution would be to make this feature optional, allowing users to activate it as needed.

I don't think it should be overly complicated. It appears that Vitor may have some philosophical reasons for not implementing it.

I agree that is the most rational and simplest solution here. It puts users in control of their experience. So it begs the question why Vitor refuses to support that option. I don’t know the answer to that.

He said (paraphrasing) that it’s better for the ecosystem to be opinionated and to let people who don’t like it fork off.

Right but that just means his opinion is pro-censorship.
