The biggest problem for the "Nicaragua route" is that the opposition is not headless. The Nicaragua route was possible before the election (as Ortega did in 2021). Today, it is almost impossible to extinguish the determination and hope of millions of Venezuelans with a consolidated leadership.

Maduro's ambitions to copy Chinese or North Korean manuals (internet shutdowns or bans on social media) are also not viable. They would have too much of a negative impact on the economy and daily life to an unbearable degree and would only further infuriate the population.
