Nostr have you heard? Urbit died tonight.
Discussion
really? why?
the urbit foundation’s director was fired by the board. Yarvin is getting more involved, looks a little like a coup at this point.
plus they’re planning some kind of new token scheme to raise money. might be pausing development on core tech in order to focus on …. wherever the money might be.
Makes me even more satisfied that my company jumped off the Urbit ship onto some better tech last year. the writing was on the wall.
got it, scammy scams
you mean curtis yarvin?
I mean Curtis Yarvin, one of the founders of Urbit.
Had been quiet about the tech for nearly a decade, commented a bit on social/political aspects. Now seems to be coming back into the technical fold (which is extremely big news in Urbit circles)
their website doesn't say anything, in fact they seem to be under heavy development
this was a private Gathertown event attended by many of the core community members. it JUST happened. the dust hasn’t settled yet. details I’m gleaning may be slightly off. but something very big just happened.
