Can someone explain to me how exactly Li-fi works. The only reason I think it wasn't adopted by the public is because nobody really knows about it. But the governments do & are they already using it maybe they are & we just don't know it?

Li-Fi is a concept that was presented in 2014 at some tech conference in Barcelonia that data could travel through light. A prototype of router was made & proven to be way faster then typical wifi. But the idea was never adopted into a type of production because apparently it cost too much to build one of these modem/routers then to build 100 wifi routers. But it was proved that you could transfer gigabits of data per second through sunlight, ultraviolet, & infared light.

Finding out about hidden things like this amazes me what if it was adopted? I think it really wasn't because the internet companies would have a shitstorm about no longer being able to control peoples speed & profit off of it. Like if you needed faster speeds all you would have to do is buy more ultraviolet or infared lights & just shine it over the modem. Imagine one infared light gives you 3GB per second speed.

I hope a group out there delves into it, perfects the technology then just starts putting it out there on the down low so when the big wigs find out it will be too late. Just like limewire it was too late to stop people from getting music & movies for free.

Try the new Asus spider WiFi things.

There was a purple holographic disc about the size of a UK £1 coin the layers could read it from billions of angles giving it many TB of capacity.

That was in the 90s and was shown on BBC but never seen it again.

It stuck in mind because...

Nintendo had the N64 cartridge loaded console, PlayStation had the PlayStation 1 at the time.

Nintendo wanted to make a DD (Dolphin /Disk drive) docking station.

It went 4 years with delays and in the end was cancelled. Sony was supposed to make and supply them but pulled the deal after 4 years of messing around.

Nintendo were mortally wounded by this as their reputation with annoyed fans was ruined.

Fans eagerly awaited the DD, me as a child included, The games magazines were making some huge promises about what it could do.

To make matters worse they were obviously delaying it to steal the tech, and dropped the Ps2. this is why PS2 has purple discs.

However... the purple those discs are just a colouring or layer which obviously benefits the laser or something , but this is not the capacity of this purple plastic holographic tech that was on the television.

Also there is some Infra red disco sound system technology that allows every person to hear what they want at their chosen volume, and they have no headphones and no speakers.

Just Infra red laser things that target the ears, so no sound in the room.

Light can do some crazy things.

That's very interesting to know I think I might have seen magazine about it back then I don't remember but that & the infared disco sound system sound really awesome I never heard of that. What happened to that sound system?
