WL Digit, what house are you in?
Discussion
This could just be "main character syndrome," but I think either Gryffindor or whatever one my friend from the train got into
What about you?
I like Ravenclaw but my personality as a trail blazer fits Gryffindor.
I could see Ravenclaw or Slytherin for me because I'm smart and egotistical.
Gryffindor has an edge because I talked shit to teachers all the time when I was in school and I would have made smartass comments to Salazar Slytherin's face for being racist if I met the original founders
Wholesome conversation. I love it.
Thank you both for helping expand nostr's field of topics with this thread #grownosgr
Not nosgr smh
Here is one of my favorite Harry Potter books. nostr:npub1yye4qu6qrgcsejghnl36wl5kvecsel0kxr0ass8ewtqc8gjykxkssdhmd0 the main character is Slytherin!

We should start a Harry Potter community on nostr.
I cant see the context of this note but I bet nostr:npub1hgvtv4zn2l8l3ef34n87r4sf5s00xq3lhgr3mvwt7kn8gjxpjprqc89jnv would be interested!
Lol, I may have bought Harry Potter Butterbeer Goldfish crackers today...I'm sure they're gross but π€·ββοΈ
I bought a bag. I took one bite and immediately tried to order two more bags. Sold out! π
Uh oh, they had a ton at the HEB today. I might be in trouble π
They are so good that I told my bff that Iβm actually glad that I canβt get them all of the time. π
Okay, they're not what I expected. They're good, but not my favorite. One bag is plenty βΊοΈ
Oh noooo I over hyped them. π© Maybe because I donβt usually eat snacks like that it tasted extra good to me.
I donβt like Harry Potter, but my neighbour sold J. K. Rowling her kitchen.
Can I join π
Yes, J.K. Rowling is very interesting too! Her background and her politics. Personally I just like the art of story telling. Many stories in this world.
Here is a fun little listen about J. K. Rowling.

The screen is in Japanese, but the audio starts "Why do you love Harry Potter"
I'm waaaay out of my depth here π³
Sorry, I live in Japan. Speaking of which, in the Harry Potter movies Voldemort wears a black kimono. π€£

Thatβs OK, my father founded this company:
That look goes so hard actually.
I actually listen to it twice! Very interesting.

Count me in.

Letβs gooooo!

THIS!
I'm going to take a shower. Come back. Put on the Order of the Phoenix. Watch it while I do as much coding work as I can before I get sick of it. Pop back onto Nostr. Then I will make a couple more Nostr Harry Potter Community memes before bed after I am inspired.
Start using the #nostrpotter hashtag for all community content.
That way we can easily search for posts and keep in touch.

Perfect!!! Letβs gooo!!!
I've made 3 Legendary Memes for the Nostr Harry Potter Community before bed. Let me know what you all think of them. GN

I think Luna Lovegood could be Headmaster of Hogwarts someday
I love her so much!
She low key pays attention to everything and has some crazy powerful magic feats here and there.
Plus she's quite trustworthy. I can imagine if she got her hands on the Marauder's Map she'd just be like "how extraordinary" and then never use it
That is correct, why use a "map" when there are so many wrackspurts.
I remember as a young teenager reading all of the books while I was in detention at school. Which at the time was practically every day. One grade I was in-school suspension for an entire year just to separate me from disturbing the rest of the class. Sometimes I think that I got into so much trouble just so I could go off, put on my headphones, and read the harry potter books.
My teachers would rather me fuck off than constantly question their lessons and teachings. I was the one who asked questions they were not smart enough to answer. Constantly witty backtalk that made the entire class laugh and was an absolute pain in their asses on purpose.
I think in retrospect it was because I was highly intelligent and that is no place for a USA school. None of the lessons really challenged me, or the teachers I had sucked at teaching. I couldn't stand being stuck in a desk all day. Forced to go through the mind numbing bullshit. That ultimately taught me nothing of real value.
Harry Potter books were my escape to a magical world where anything was possible. Filled with subject matters that I would absolutely love to learn. I was quite bored last night so I took the sorting hat quiz, wand quiz, and the patronus quiz to see what I would get. For shits and giggles. Then I proceeded to create my own profile picture. Felt like I was a kid again.
House = Ravenclaw
Patronus = Hedgehog (WTF?)
Wand = 13 inch Laurel Wand (Dragon Heart String Core)
Here is the Profile picture I settled on. Went back in time and stole it from Dumbledores office with a little help from my little friend. Snagged up Godrick's sword, because no Legendary Man should ever be without one.
This is quite possibly the nerdiest post in my entire life. I simply do not give a flying fuck either, because sometimes you just gotta remember what it was like to feel the magic and be a kid again. For adulting is hard work and everyone needs a break from it every once in awhile.

They used to make me spend my school days in a supply closet because I wouldn't obey teachers telling me to stay silent during "in school suspension"
I get bloodthirsty thinking about this. Fuck New York.
You sound like you also could have been a Gryffindor. So could Snape and eliza here. Being on nostr this early is actually a tiny bit Gryffindorian in and of itself
New York is a fucking bitch. A lot of my friends went to school in NYC. I would hear the horror stories. Truly sorry you had to go through that shit.
I've noticed something about myself. My personality and intelligence adapts to different situations. I have taken the Myers Briggs personality test multiple times. My results vary heavily depending on my mood. Ranging from the rarest genius type to the protagonist hero and more.
I was always the social chameleon able to blend in with my surroundings and get along with whichever type of people I was around. I would hang out in the most dangerous of ghettos with criminals, worked out in the gym with the jocks, played chess club with the nerds, and played polo with some of the richest people in the world.
Wherever I was. Whatever I would do. I would always rise to the occasion and perform whatever was called upon me in order to adapt and thrive. Able to compartmentalize aspects of my personality. Control the flow of my actions.
Learning as much as I could about anything that interested me. Having so many hobbies and interests that some would look at me and see someone who was lost while having no sense of self. It wasn't until more recently did I realize that my true self is the ability to become anything that I need to be. Having many different perspectives and outlooks on life. Highly attuned abilities to read body language and decipher complex emotions. Able to digest highly complex ideas and areas of knowledge and put it to good use.
Even though I do agree that I have a little Gryffindor in me should I ever be called upon to be brave and courageous. For I never stray away from such things. I can understand why that could be a Ravenclaw trait. I think the sorting hat may have gotten it right.

I love this!
Buttercup what house are you in? Considering your screen name I would assume Gryffindor.
I think the second one is the keeper in more than one sense.
Another one for the gang

Do you have any other theories about the book? I have always been curious about the source of the book. Where the ideas of the characters came from. Stephen Fry did the Harry Potter audio books, but he also did another series about Greek history. In these books he connects Paris' (took Helen of Troy) childhood to Harry Potter (the boy who lived), and Hermione was the name of Helen of Troy's daughter. I also like to stretch Hagrid's brother to be associated to Odysseus' cyclops. Interesting to see the sources and trying to discover new messages and different perspectives.
I think the ancient world had only magical people, and the society at some point decided they needed to undergo a mass Obliviate spell where the majority of witches and wizards agreed to join power to make everyone forget about the most powerful magic. Muggles are those who remain impacted. This is why they don't notice kids disappearing into Platform 9 and 3/4, for example; they haven't overcome the ancient spell.
This will wear off eventually.
Muggles actually do lots of magic, they just don't notice.
Muggles who learn about magic as adults do even more magic, and they notice, but it's still small stuff compared to what people can do after learning from childhood - the real witches and wizards.
At some point, a witch or wizard must have come along who was very talented in occlumency, the skill of resisting this kind of spell, so they were able to notice when they did something magical.
That kept happening with more people until one of them was able to keep noticing, and hone the craft, and find others with the gift, and help them see it too.
By the events of the books, there are 3 ways to escape being a muggle:
1. You're so talented at occlumency that you just notice magic happening at a young age (very rare)
2. You're so talented in some area other than occlumency that you accidentally do magic powerful enough to be noticed by yourself or another witch or wizard who recruits you at a young age
3. Your family have already done one of the above so you're raised in the wizarding world, not effected by the mass Obliviate from ancient times
This is how we ended up with prejudice over "blood purity" - the most powerful witches and wizards are in fact the first-gens that break out of the mass Obliviate as kids on their own, while folks born into the wizarding world may or may not be powerful enough to have made it without their family's help. Purebloods are insecure about how noticeably good at magic muggle-borns are, and they project the insecurity with prejudice.
When Dumbledore says words are the most powerful thing in magic, he knows the fragile balance that's slowly fading away as people slowly spread knowledge of magic to their loved ones.
Nobody ever explains all this because it's an infohazard. The more people know, the sooner the world falls into chaos and another mass Obliviate is needed.
