"like" is the most deceptive form of communication ever, zaps are 100x better, but what if "like" meant keeping a backup of your message as well?
Is it possible to impl in nostr? I'm guessing yes, the question is, has anyone thought of this before?

Interesting idea
I think this was also the initial idea with likes on Twitter. They were supposed to be personal "bookmarks", not public numbers, but something got lost in translation. I think I read something from nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m about this at some point.
I do use like half the time to bookmark it and other times because I just like it and no other reasons to it
I think there's value in both public and private bookmarks. Likes are similar to public bookmarks. Displaying the count is a separate issue.
Is a zap that’s worth $0.0003 any different to a like, however with extra metadata, failure chance, and just effective noise on the lightning network?
Certainly could change as BTC value increases. I’m actually fearful now we don’t have enough Bitcoin decimal points.
