once upon a time i went on a riff about relationships
the immensity of what a relationship is to me in my seeing
it is simplest to explain in the frame of "partners" but it is the same for friends for coworkers for colleagues
to sum it up: when you partner with someone, you are partnering with everyone in relation to them
as in: their siblings, their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents, their great great grandparents, any exs they have, their best friends, their enemies, everyone
their bacteria, their blood type, their family traumas, the epigenetics, genetics, everything entirely everything
it is such an insane endeavor to actually think about
it is so insane im usually pretty convinced the only sanity is voluntarily asexual aromantic celibate nun land

as long as respect is paid towards the time it takes to acclimate, things are usually fine
like great great grandparents on both sides only ever want babies to watch over
