To me the whole idea of buying or taking over Greenland seems crazy and like it would not be a good thing for the world (open to arguments). Even "purchasing" a democratic takeover seems dodgy to me. The US already exerts a lot of power, and Greenland is open for business, so building bonds that way seems like the better way to go for me, potentially forming a long term partnership as Greenland gains its independence at some point in the future.

Geothermal energy for mining+heating, however, seems like a great fit to me. It could be a great opportunity for companies in the space with a proof of concept on a larger scale as an added bonus.
