The #Damus updates have to go live for mass adoption, Damus is still the most pleasing experience on iOS mobile, so i doubt the zap replacement is really going to take off till then.
Just as soon as amethyst allows for zaps that arent 1k sats ill dump likes
I mostly only react to a post if the other person isn't into bitcoin or hasn't set up any LNURL or address
I don't see this helping adoption for normies. Isn't this supposed to be a way to give normies as well as Bitcoiners an alternative to centralized social media? I would expect a normie to look at zaps and be like, "WTF are zaps?" and when they see they can't like anything turn and walk away. It's all good for us to be over here yanking our own peckers over Bitcoin in a social network, but I don't see nostr spreading to anyone else other than the already initiated

Yes, likes were created to feed the algorithm, they have no use here. Reposting and zaps cost something in reputation or sats so much more meaningful signals to everyone on #Nostr
Nope we're not lol. That's a childish idea. Not everyone has stats or can zap really. Who's idea is it? 🤔🤨 What did I miss? Did we have a Nostr meeting without my knowledge 🤣
Yeah that and some people truly are stacking and not giving or donating SATS away which is perfectly fine as well.
