It’s true. Maybe it’s comforting to think it takes some 4-D masterminded plan to end a precious life, but it takes almost nothing.

And maybe the confirmation bias of blaming everything on your pet cause is tempting, but you eventually sound like Rev Lovejoy saying “Somehow Bart Simpson has managed to sneak his bedroom into my house” in order to make the pieces fit.

Things don’t have to secretly be other things.

Exactly. It reminds me of the Proportionality Bias whereby people tend to assume large events have large causes, which leads to conspiracy theories. Case in point, there are tons of conspiracy theories surrounding JFK's assassination, meanwhile when there was an *unsuccessful* attempt on Reagan's life, most people are quite content with the conclusion that it was a lone wolf.
