Government over regulation full on display on my job. We are installing a sign on top of the building I’m working on. It needs to be secured to the steel structure of the building. Usually an inspector would just come check the work after it was done. This town is demanding to watch the holes being drilled into the steel. There’s at least 12 spots and they want to watch each one individually being drilled. 🤦♂️ 🤪

It’s the municipality demanding to watch the work being performed or else they wouldn’t give the permit. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard of them doing this

I did a job of 11km (about 7 miles) of chainlink fencing along a freeway, each post (3m spacing) core drilled into limestone blocks. (3668 core drills + strainer posts)
They wanted to see each core drilled hole and inspect before we secured post.
After 3 hours the inspector said, "this is bullshit, you guys know what your doing, call me for the last 10posts to sign off the job"
