Why do we need decentralized social communication? #[0] wanted to know why Nostr was better than other supposed "free speech" social networks like Gab or Truth Social. Here's why:

In a decentralized system, however, attackers would need to compromise multiple nodes, relays, clients, etc. in order to take down the entire system, which can be much more difficult to do or even impossible.

This is because decision-making can be delegated to the individuals or groups that are closest to the issue at hand, rather than having to wait for a central authority to make a decision.
