Black Widow?

This is a redback spider, Australian black widow.

Probably won’t kill you but it will screw up your nervous system. You don’t want this to bite anything you care about.

Austrailia frightens me man

We’ve had no neighbouring people to care about ever, it’s ok to double check your shoes for spiders for that level of safety for 120 years.

We don't seem to get many red backs in Queensland.

Red bellied blacks & browns are pretty common though.

Further north, you've gotta watch out for stingers & salties in the ocean. Also the Cassowary (not your friendly nostriche.

Haven’t seen many red backs this year or last but it should have been 2 excellent years for them. Hot and Wet.
