Seriously though, I don’t understand it. If I had little money and got £5K I’d maximise the shit out of it. I’d probably use half to improve my quality of life and half to try and improve my future prospects by what ever method.
Or perhaps offer some to you as a token payment on the house you let him live in for free 🤷♂️

Ironically, I had toyed with the idea of giving him his home when BTC hit a specific price point. Ironically that price point was $100K.
That won't be happening, not least because he would probably sell it, rent a new place with government funding and waste the lot on long boozy beach lunches and Caribbean Cruises 😂

People are on their own journey. You stepped in and became part of his journey but ultimately it’s his journey. Sounds like you need to back off and let him just do what he wants. As long as you get the rent all is well
