When talking to a family member who does not understand what Bitcoin is, how do you go about approaching the topic in a manner that can plant a seed in their head 🌱
Comparing it against gold is one approach I know of. Also raising the point that it is hard money seems like a good point to raise.
Also, what common questions do you get and how do you suggest responding to them? 🤔
My aim here is to give the family member an opportunity to own some sats.

Always depends for me.. I like to mention 21 million.
TBH now in my not even a little biased opinion… I show them Nostr and how I can send pieces of it everywhere. Show how it’s useful today.
I usually start by mentioning that Bitcoin has no central control and is unchangeable. Then I explain that I measure everything - my salary, expenses, houses, rent - in Bitcoin instead of Fiat. That’s when the questions start rolling in.
After speaking with friends I orange-pilled early on, I realized it wasn’t the facts that intrigued them most. It was two things: my passion for Bitcoin and the implied sense that I have intellectual integrity and strong values.
So, the best way to orange-pill someone is simple: speak with passion and be a person of integrity.
Think of it like any other traded stock. It’s a bit of an oversimplification but the easiest way to break the ice.
