There is zero mystery here. Primal went over the guidelines and is doing what's required. Any client could do the same Primal and get the same result. Shrug.
You just have a theory, it hasn’t really been substantiated.
I have had phone calls with reviewers and at no point did they say what primal is doing is a solution to their issues with my app
But Damus has never had in-app purchase of zaps, yes?
I'd find it very strange if you never got an email from Apple suggesting that you implement in-app purchase of zaps as a means of moving ahead, yada yada?
I never got that, even on lengthy calls with them about courses of action. The only thing they said i could do is remove the zap button on posts. They said i could keep it on profiles. They were really specific about this.
It’s possible in app purchases nulls this guideline, but i don’t know why they wouldn’t mention that on calls or in any of our correspondence. It was more like: do this one thing or say bye.
If there was a simple, non-kyc solution to get people bitcoin from an in app purchase im sure we would have done it already.
My point is that you've never enabled in-app purchase. (Why you haven't is another story, and I'm with you on the philosophical side, but still another story.)
And since it's the most sledgehammer obvious thing, you can't not do it and then be surprised that the submission failed.
I'd bet my hat that somewhere in your inbox is an email from Apple telling you in very clear terms to enable in-app purchase of zaps as a means of having the zap feature approved. There has to be.
I consulted on this for years, you develop a pretty good sense. It can get oddly arbitrary in some cases, that's for sure, but in most cases it's nowhere near as arbitrary as the dev assumes.
Literally no other client besides Primal has done the most captain obvious thing which is to enable in app-purchase of zaps. (Or at least if one has I've never seen it.) So this talk of mysteries and vagaries to me is like ... what?
Presumably Apple gets their cut when people buy sats in Primal directly.
