We have all heard the case for a national sales tax to place the tax burden on consumption.

If high tariffs increase the price of goods but can replace the income tax, it would be a similar transition of tax burden.

This is a time I need to study the Austrian school of economics. My mind is open to the idea that tariffs likely don’t always have the same effect Keynesians would have you believe, but I don’t have enough theoretical knowledge to have an intelligent conversation
