Constantly reposting your own crappy notes seems so narcissistic and vain. If the note holds any value it would be reposted by others. At least have the courtesy to spin up an alt npub to repost so it doesn’t look like you’re stroking yourself in public. Nobody wants to see that. There are other platforms where this is encouraged and rewarded.
Am I the only one that feels this way?

We’re responsible for our own feed and can curate it how we see fit.
Here on nostr there are no algorithms boosting your post for engagement, so you have to do it.
If you think it is a "good one" or pinpoints which content you make and you feel that to few people saw it, why not boost it?
It's better than copy and pasting a trending note by someone else to get some engagement and attention.
I’m more likely to do the latter and add my thoughts to that trending note.
I agree. with this. it's hard to see what everyone is thinking and saying sometimes due to not scrolling all the way down before getting distracted.
So, if someone does the work for me and reposts their good content from earlier, it's helpful.
Also, i'm becoming more comfortable with the "narcissistic" element of social media. Or perhaps it's the ego. if you don't throw yourself out there, how will anyone see you and respond.
each ego, "narcissistic instance of self" is like a little lightning bolt reaching out to other neurons to figure itself out. test a hypothesis, do some learning.

Don’t see an issue with this because there’s a good chance a bunch of your followers never see your note in the first place. I miss many notes due to time zones.
That’s a fair point, nostr is my first “social media” that I’ve interacted with, aside from small group chats with friends. Admittedly, im not sure about etiquette in regards to this stuff. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong. I’ve never reposted one of my own notes.
I usually don’t either but understand why some do. It’s a bit different from algo driven platforms where that’s less necessary.
I sometimes repost my reply to someone because I want more people to see it. Replies don’t get as many views.
