#logseq is the #pkm I wish I had 2 decades ago. Slowly moving my #markdown and #vimwiki notes to it and astonished to see how new relations just begin to emerge. Being #foss was the reason I committed to it and it is already paying off. Paired with #syncthing there are no privacy nor lock-in concerns. But the #mobile app is just too early in it's development stage and not very usable still.

Enter #obsidian with it's beautiful editor, great performance and no-brainer integration with my #logseq #graph thanks to all the files just being #markdown formatted. A perfect stopgap until the logseq mobile app is mature enough or until #obsidian goes full #foss?

Obsidian won't go full FOSS ever, with their current team.

Have been part of the huge thread about it & they just closed it in the end, complaining about those "FOSS idiots" or something. I just paraphrased it.

I agree. #obsidian will go #foss only if it goes bankrupt first, maybe. I hate using #aurorastore for my apps because there's no good alternative on #fdroid. Mobile #logseq is not there yet and #markor can only go so far.

Have you tried #anytype

code is open and free except for commercial purposes so not technically #foss unless #osi or another organisation approves those kinds of licenses

Never heard of #anytype before. It's scope looks too broad and I don't see much of interoperability. Better just to stick to the #unix philosophy of "do one thing and do it right". Plain text files will outlive us all.

Haven't checked but I was under the impression it was all saved as markdown

Disregard for UI/UX beauty just guarantees leaving lots of people without the open, decentralized, open software they need. So for any productivity, note-taking use case, that needs to be synced to multiple devices in a secure, P2P way, with offline mode, I would definitely prefer Anytype to other options out there. Cheers!

I’ve been absolutely falling in love with #anytype and can’t wait for shares spaces 🙏

Indeed! Very under-valued

Yes #logseq on my lowend mobile device doesn't cut it too yet. But that doesn't mean I don't carry my graph around either.
