code is open and free except for commercial purposes so not technically #foss unless #osi or another organisation approves those kinds of licenses

Never heard of #anytype before. It's scope looks too broad and I don't see much of interoperability. Better just to stick to the #unix philosophy of "do one thing and do it right". Plain text files will outlive us all.

Disregard for UI/UX beauty just guarantees leaving lots of people without the open, decentralized, open software they need. So for any productivity, note-taking use case, that needs to be synced to multiple devices in a secure, P2P way, with offline mode, I would definitely prefer Anytype to other options out there.
