I’m gonna disagree with you simply because it’s not the case, like I said it’s not intrusive, unless you volitionally attempt to have it do something it won’t.. it simply won’t decode the neural signals. This is pretty simple stuff, would you like me to send you papers on the subject ? We realized our first paper a couple days ago if you’re interested.

I’d love to see an intrusive version since learning how to think words to with the interface is like teaching dogs to roll over and fetch the words.

The brainwave decoder is quite awesome but for the brain in question to command, the training to repeat a single task / word / function by thought in order to command or dictate for the interface to decode is quite a steep curve or was in the early stages of the development.

It can read your brainwaves, but not really your thoughts as little as a dog would follow a strangers body language to do wonder tricks.

So intrusive would be a desired feature rather than a need for fear.

Linguistic thought patterns are very personal and thus a one size fits nobody is a challenging requirement without individual training and practice.

The models trained to translate a thought "think about moving your finger", "think about biting into a lemon" into some action "click mouse", "rotate cube" are prediction models. "this eeg pattern is likely associated with this response", there is no need to decode the signals if all you care about is the correlations. Advertising machine learning models are a similar process "this type of advertising response is likely to produce this emotional output".

If this is an OS like Mac, Windows or Linux, I can understand that implicitly these models for training are not used for such actions or for the purposes of navigating the OS. But suppose that I'm browsing the web with this OS, is there a guarantee that that this raw data cannot be accessed by the host of websites?

Just to be very explicit here: this isn't an accusation of malice to the devs of this OS, rather its a question on the security and accessibility of this data to webservices/ third party software. But sure, I'd check out the papers

Just found out that you're behind pushing this brand nostr:npub1jk9h2jsa8hjmtm9qlcca942473gnyhuynz5rmgve0dlu6hpeazxqc3lqz7. I absolutely want to give you the benefit of the doubt and checked out the website:

Looks like there's quite a few things I need to fill in: not entirely sure of the scope of the product and the website's privacy policy, terms of use, etc still need to be filled in.

I'll wait to judge until there's more information, but this is typically where my thoughts go when I think about BCI driven OSes

So the data is owned by you on our platform, you can choose to turn it on or off.. if you turn it on you’ll be rewarded for doing so (not something I’d do) & thank you for the questions they’re important to us, the terms & conditions are being updated to make very clear how the mesh network works! I relayed a question you asked to Milan & he’s actually to provide more info to you directly.. gonna see if I get him his own npub or give him access to the self labs account

Yeah man absolutely appreciated 🧑. No intention to stir up any drama, but considering how there are a lot of privacy and technically oriented individuals on nostr I think its important to convey these aspects up front.

I definitely understand the need for research on product usage as well, but being opt-in, being very verbose into how the data is used and having some sort of security audit can help bring that audience on board with the product and services.

Nah bro you’re spot on!! πŸ«‚ this is why I think I came here, there’s more intelligent conversations happening here than anywhere else on social media, publishing on other social medias is cool but it won’t give us the feedback we desperately need 🫑 & we did a 3rd party security audit which is needed for the official launch w/ the headset so I can get that for you!

Happy to help.

You rang?

I looked at the paper #[5] linked, but it doesn’t discuss Cerebral Os. I have other general thoughts about the paper, but I will keep them to myself.

I agree with #[3]#[3] that privacy and usage of customer data are major concerns. I’ve always been of the opinion that health tech companies (e.g. 23andMe) should have to abide by the same standards for privacy and data stewardship as hospitals and other healthcare organizations.

If Cerebral Os can truly live up to the hype, then it would be great for disabled individuals. There were a lot groundbreaking claims made in the original post, so I’ll be closely following this account for more info.

Ty nostr:npub1p5z50hjz9hausgfywujml3mpc0haz8df3ah77rkrmssngeg4t3dqxy4yc5 for your response! I was not entirely sure how to respond, but I'll make an effort to follow your lead w/r/t the paper.

You also brought up great point regarding healthcare companies that I hadn't considered. And I think waiting to hear more about what will be announced is another wise choice, so thank you all around πŸ«‚

Hey nostr:npub1p5z50hjz9hausgfywujml3mpc0haz8df3ah77rkrmssngeg4t3dqxy4yc5 I’m interested In hearing your thoughts about the paper. This can help us improve the next paper.

Hiya

Let’s start by looking fit before going to the beach.

The mission statement is simple enough to make sense.

I dig it, I believe there is potential to help many and entertain some.

Then which research white paper comes out of it, looking forward to read.

Is there more information or clarification on this project and how it connects to this paper? I'm really curious about this project and paper, but I don't see how they are related. Is there any videos or presentations??

Unfortunately this paper ain't it. For instance, there were no references backing up the claims, there was not enough information about what was being collected (what areas in the brain are they talking about?? How exactly does this tool work? There are many different types of BCI right?). The results section wasn't a results, the figures were links but I couldn't access them. Also this single case study design was done on the author by the author yes? That's not how you do an experiment because, bias.

I really wish that a scientist was hired to help write and explain these ideas because I think it's really interesting!! Doesn't need to be nature worthy. Maybe a video series would have been better to demonstrate the tool and results. If there's ever a re-write or something I'd love to see it it!

Totally understand your point about the research paper to be honest it was meant to explain Cerebral Os just to address people that may be interested in Focus levels or the Gateway process. We are writing another paper with a lot more information regarding Cerebral.

In regards to the actual study that was posted yes it was done by the author first but we plan on expanding this research with 100 people with different meditation experiences.

I will keep you posted on when the Cerebral OS paper is released which will provide you with all the information you need. Promise this one will be written way better!

Hey I wanted to address some of your concerns since you made some valid points. Let’s start with your concerns regarding data privacy. Speaking as the founder of the company I have always seen the power of people finally owning and controlling their own data. Data is the new gold and one of the strongest assets people can own especially with there being 20 Petabytes of data being generated every 15 minutes. Companies like Meta, Google, etc. salivate over this number and we’re NOT one of them. The goal for us is to finally give people control of all their data to either make money off of their data by selling it direct through systems that we’ll build or completely locking their data out of the system. We are not looking to profit from the data in anyway we already have other ways to make money in our business model like selling our in game tokens for example. To take the money for selling personal data is just greedy and takes money out of the pockets of people that really need it. I hope that addresses the first concern.

Now let’s go to the next, open sourcing this technology is the plan. we just need to make sure it’s built in a way to protect everyone.

For example, creating a open source Joint data controller system that will allow the people to be in control of their data on whatever systems or apps that other developers create using our code and programs. This will also span across any third party that wants to connect to any of our services like the companies I mentioned above. Having a system like this will set specific guidelines on how personal data will be used and will come with repercussions if used it’s not used properly. For example, a case action suit and instant removal of all users on their service that are apart of this.

Lastly, let’s talk about how the BCI technology works. Now, currently we are using the Emotiv headset to create our OS but it’s not strict to any headset. Currently it’s only reading mental commands and is not reading any other data except that. We have over 300 mental commands inside Cerebral OS right now to only read your commands to control your PC or send a command to Role Model AI to have it perform a task as your personal AI assistant. In the future the only other data that I would like it to read is Focus levels where the user can understand their patterns and current Focus Level. This is why we released the research paper on this topic first for us to see how far this information is from the public. To be honest it seems we’re right on time with everything. I really hope this addresses your immediate concerns and I’m sure there’s more. I am happy to demo the project and hosts AMA’s to not only address the concerns but build this technology where everyone feels empowered not taken advantage of like the other companies do to us daily.
