On a relating note to the video, both headsets suck mainly because you need an account just to use the damn things; any headset that doesn't lock their use or content to a mandated account that tracks you up the ass would be a bestseller.

The real money is in the upsell though.

I would like to see aftermarket firmware for these things, like what Lineage/Graphene/Calyx does for smartphones. Hopefully with FOSS projects to support it as well

A jailbroken Quest running a third-party OS being used for Vircadia or something similar would interest me.

Just being able to run native Linux on one would open up loads of possibilities, but I wouldn't count on that happening considering the state of Linux on mobile.

Only exception I can think of that's worth a damn is Sailfish.

hackintoshing quest to run visionOS would be awesome but i guess thats impossible because apple uses their own chip
