No government should have the power to arbitrarily them off their citizens protected rights. I don't mean that as a personal belief, I'm fairly certain it's not within their power.

That being said, at the end of the day it comes down to who has more force and who is willing to use it. There's a plethora of reasons you don't see them pulling this shit in Texas, armed citizens are one of them
