I think because he has been one of the most influential persons in bitcoin for a long time. 🤷🏼

For me personally he is maybe just a ‚scammer’ in the same way like many of the current bitcoin (btc) influencers are.

Some weird and questionable promotions at the time. But not teally worse than the typical podcaster/blogger does today.

He forked of. That especially made him ‚most evil‘ in the eyes of many.

I don’t like bitcoincash more or less than litecoin, ethereum or tether but personally I still like to hear his inputs.

I see no problem in interviewing him. I even thank you @Vlad for running the show the ‚open’ way you do. 👍

Hard disagree here. I was around back then and things were very uncertain. I was much earlier in my Bitcoin understanding and wasn’t sure what to think.

But this guy, along with some other fraudsters, spent YEARS telling people their shitcoin was “the real Bitcoin” well after the market had voted. He’s basically still telling the same lie in the first 5min of this interview, in 2024 🤢

In other words, he continues scamming people to this day. Yes he tried to change Bitcoin and failed - that’s ok. It’s his actions since that event that make him a scammer. Anyone giving him a platform at this point is doing a disservice IMO.

Are you saying that he diverts from being a scammer after the first 5min? Because what I heard in those 5min was literally him reiterating the same scam talking points he has been spewing for nearly a decade (literally the same garbage 😂)

He has a different perspective but I think he is genuine in his opinion. That doesn't make him a scammer, it just makes him wrong.

The fork made me not put money into Bitcoin for years, because how can you know which one will go to 0 and which one will survive? I have a lot of regret obviously 🤣 and hate a scammer as much as the next person, but this is an interview worth listening to. I don't trust Saylor and think that Wall Street is going to want a chain that only works for banks. I hope we can do better.

I agree. The big blockers were censored on Reddit and Bitcoin Talk. This is well known. Blockstream was given $21 million to make sidechains, but instead they created a multisig and called it Liquid.

I think the conspiracy is that big blocks have no "use case". Of course they have a use case! They are just a terrible idea for L1, and should be an L2 drivechain.

Instead of admitting both sides are right and wrong about many things, they all double down on their nonsense. Divide and conquer.

Do I think that Roger still believes his idea to change Bitcoin was a good one? Sure. But that’s the beauty of Bitcoin, it doesn’t care about one actor with a bad idea.

Do I believe Roger believes it is morally ok to market BCash as “the real Bitcoin”, 7 years after the market rejected his idea? LMFAO absolute not. And if he does, he is by definition insane. This is the scam, regardless of his sanity.

Everyone is a scammer and Bitcoin doesn‘t care. 🤷🏼

I still think that interview was awesome and would recommend it to everyone who got orange-pilled in the early days and experienced the block-size war from its start till today.
