For non SAns: Tsek is what we say (t'sskec) when we want to tell something to fuck off; like a monkey or a bird or a person who is bugging you - tsek! and voetsek is the full version of that. Basically the Afrikaans for "bugger off"

The Afrikaaners are known for their "Great Trek" from the Cape to inland Johannesburg so it's a play on words as in refugees voestekking to America now, aka the Great Voetsek - the whole circle of Wagons etc.

AHAHAHAHAHA OMG Hilarious and we will crack jokes about ANYTHING. Comedy has always been a way we deal with serious issues - we can all laugh about it and deal with it. It's how we overcame Apartheid and racism too - humour, especially stereotypes and racial humour. In fact Nando's made an ad back in like 2011 related to this

https://youtu.be/cBIDkW2_FnQ?si=JDgpEZ1MfWGzZroa

Angry guy keeps screaming at the sky and blaming strangers for his own issues.

How many COVID shots did you take already? Or was it the hormone replacement?

That's the irony.

South Africa was denied vaccines. We were denied production rights to produce for the continent.

Zimbabwe had sanctions and was blocked from vaccines too.

Ironic isn't it?

We basically didn't have vaccines for a long while and had a long lock down. Something about the West vaccine hording...

The COVID virus came here, died out and had to mutate to COVID SARS COV-2 just to survive the harsh environment.

We ended up getting portioned vaccines from all over the world; but COVID died out here by the time we needed to use them.

Africa isn't for sissies.

The coke version is the only one you can find these days and it's sad because the original was better imo, but yay for k'naan he's got many good songs đź’–

I never really heard any of his other stuff - only this one

I mean it's all like 15 years old at this point. Apparently he immigrated to Canada and started beef with the Canadian music scene so idk... Good for him? 🤷‍♀️

ahahahaha hilarious. Somalians smh

dude went from extreme desert and barren landscape with no food and water to ice tundra and forest. What an arc.

COVID doesn't exist.

people died from something though

They sure did.

yeah this is true, but we didn't have the vaccine and people were kicking it - then I think herd immunity kicked in and the deaths decreased. But people did die, and we had no vaccines on shore. So you tell me what that is?

yes old unhealthy people died from Covid an d many hundreds of times more died from vaccines and lock down measures

No, many young healthy people died from covid too.

No they did not

Just because you day it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I know young people that died including children and newborns.

But hey, whatever floats your boat

and by that same logic just because you say it did happen doesn't mean it did happen.

The body count says otherwise

says who?

Imagine a world where people could hold onto the idea that people died who didn’t deserve to die just because they ate some seed oils and not as many people died as the initial panic from governments and media reported would?

But hey, then I guess there wouldn’t be much point to social media…

I also didn't say "no young people or newborns died" I said I said "no they didn't" to "many young healthy people died from covid" pretty big difference there. My original point was the people who died from covid mainly had multiple comorbidities. The vaccine and lockdowns killed many many times more healthy people than covid did

SARS didn't mutate to SARS-COV2 in Africa. SARS-COV-2 is a separate SARS virus. There were a number of variants of SARS-COV-2 that originated (at least in terms of detection) in South Africa, though there has been a suspicion that Omicron was due to someone playing around in a lab and then accidentally leaking it.

Omicron was mutated here and is the variant that went back overseas. Many mutations died from the environmental conditions until Omicron was formed.

It did indeed mutate here into something more powerful than the initial outbreak.

That's... what I said

Omicron wasn't leaked from a lab

I didn't say it was. I said there were suspicions (because of the number of unique mutations). It probably just passed through a bunch of AIDS patients

https://insightplus.mja.com.au/2022/42/gain-of-function-research-and-the-origins-of-omicron/

I knew I didn't need a vaccine because it's weak ass died within two weeks of arrival.

Something about the strongest survive

I was watching and waiting to see which vaccine worked best with least adverse effects and eventually that turned out to be none of them lol

People from all walks of life vehemently opposed them.

The only ones who took them were forced or loose the job of unable to travel etc.

Here I would say they got the first 30-40% fairly easily. It was made very difficult here after that. I don't honestly believe the supposed full vaccination rate (95% 12+), but I can't be sure if that's the govt defrauding the public or the public defrauding the govt.

12 booster shots?

No just the original two ages 12+ (97% 1 shot). Eventually, once it became clear that none of the vaccines fully prevented infection or transmission it became difficult to maintain restrictions for the unvaccinated

When we were in SA the worst part of it was interacting with the Africaaners. I think it'll be very entertaining when they're in the USA and start talking to someone white as if they're just as racist as Africaaners are (what they were doing to me and my sister when we were there).

Some of us were raised to throw hands at the first n-word dropped because otherwise we all gonna be looking bad like we think that language is cool. They're gonna get a bip-bop right to the tater then be crying like they thought it was a land of milk and honey for racists. (Don't get me wrong we can be hella racist, but most of us are just being assholes not racist assholes and we do try and keep that distinction clear.)

Good luck battling the trolls đź’–

yeah as Trump says "they're not sending their best people" and Australia, New Zealand, UK, and US all have stories of these kak people. They are grifters and have a victim mentality and aren't the kind of people who will roll up their sleeves and do the work. There are some that will; but the vast majority that leave are leaving because their lifestyle has changed from one of privilege to being a normal citizen and having to deal with the reality of equal citizenship with anyone, including the English.

Only way to deal with a racist is to enjoy the racism. We'll especially make jokes about it too.
