Imagine you think you have freedom of speech.

You like to talk shit and tell the truth. Now imagine you have real skills and build new tools that help people in real ways. Now imagine you know your work could be a threat to powerful entities or useful to adversaries. You consult lawyers, you read the laws, you set up in specific jurisdictions to be able to not break the law.

Then one day you are arrested. All your bitcoin is frozen. Your business is taken from you. You aren't allowed to make any digital transaction even to pay for a lawyer. Your home is used to get bail and you can't work because you are under house arrest.

Your trial isn't for another 18 months.

And you never stole money. You never scammed anyone out of a penny with a memecoin. You never committed a crime. No harm has occurred to anyone.

Code was written. People ran it.

Not only did we lose the best onchian privacy tools, developers were arrested for writing code? They were never custodians they never handled funds of people using their software. Meanwhile banks launder billions and get slapped with a fine and it’s business as usual.
