I was told that UX is one of the biggest problems in Nostr these days. What are people seeing that needs improvement?

If this is the case, it would not surprise me. Early on in an ecosystem, it's about maturing the tech and infrastructure to a decent point. Then it commoditizes a bit, and the user experience gaps become more prevalent.

The average person doesnt want too much change. Big recognizable buttons an icons they have been used to seeing on twitter, instagram etc. Bold lines to distinguish different areas. In general keep it twittery 🤣

And I think of the phone clients the one that nails the modern look people are used to best is probably either Primal or Damus. I did a terrible job explaining it lol

I just realized you said UX not UI. I think lagging notifications, long delays from when you click post or reply to when you actually see it there, weird little things where clients need you to manually refresh. Things like that need improvement. Plus discovery.

Gotcha on the point you're trying to make.

Just one more thought - why is twittery the goal? Can Nostr be more than that? Or have its own unique angle? People are on TikTok, Snapchat, Twitch, etc, which all have their own approaches to social interaction. Maybe Nostr can have its own thing, too?

Oh yeah I agree it can do its own thing. I just mean that considering private keys nsecs, lightning wallets and zaps are already confusing to a non bitcoiner, it seems like the right thing is to not overwhelm them too much.

But then again. When twitter came out it was far different than facebook. So yes you are probably right about Nostr social media apps doing there own thing.

However Im too retarded to know how to design such a thing 🤣

I think it requires a lot of creative exploration and weird experimentation. Don’t think it can be logically derived. People interact in funny ways.

Hey Christoph! Last big one I experienced was my DMs disappearing on multiple clients. DMs also seem to be undeletable which is odd.
