I like huge OP_RETURNs
they reduce both blockchain and UTXO set data growth rates.
I don't understand how increasing data limits would reduce data growth.
How do you come to this conclusion?
blocks have size limit
normal transactions get size discounts, opreturns don't
transactions create utxos, opreturns don't
utxos use memory and have to be tracked and verified when spent, opreturns can just be ignored forever
What does an opreturn do?
Aren't transactions the entire point of Bitcoin? Why would transactions be an issue?
maintaining the blockchain is a big burden for everybody running nodes
it is toxic waste produced by the usage of bitcoin
So how does allowing more data to be stored on the blockchain help?

no one is "allowing more data to be stored", that would be the case if the blocksize was being increased, but no one is increasing it
OP_RETURN in Bitcoin is a special command (opcode) that lets you embed small amounts of arbitrary data (text, files, etc.) into a transaction, creating a special "unspendable" output that effectively burns any Bitcoin sent to it, allowing for things like timestamping, token creation (like NFTs), and digital signatures without cluttering the active transaction pool, though recent updates have expanded its data limit significantly.
What it does:
Data Embedding: It attaches extra data (metadata, notes, links) directly to a Bitcoin transaction, storing it permanently on the blockchain.

Lucky we live with an open decentralized network where we can do what the fuck we want within consensus… it is a shame though that some peeps keep getting all high and mighty because their worldview is “better” than everyone else’s.
If the benefits of huge op_returns were really so obviously beneficial, why the c2t tactics? Why not start promoting the solution and the setting changes that would enable it instead of pushing it out the way it was?
