Monero is a scam.

The scammers will tell you that nothing beats its privacy feature, but they don't tell you that in order to have this feature, many others had to be sacrificed.

You can't zap others with it and you can't use it a SOV. In fact, on a personal level, I don't know a single person who uses it. Why would they anyway?

Apparently, Monero started in 2014. TEN YEARS and still no one uses it. No adoption, no advancements, no decentralization.

It's basically just another shitcoin.

I use bitcoin where I live everyday. All the people and businesses I deal with don't accept Monero or even other shitcoins. They only accept bitcoin.

Why don't I just use lightning and get it over with? It's much easier, safer and more private this way.

In addition, the counter-party I'm transacting with happily accepts it unlike your shitcoin.

If you don't think anyone accepts Monero, it doesn't make sense to suggest something even less accepted than: Lightning. A fraction of Monero's acceptability and usage.

Lightning is not as private as Monero. Why do yall keep pretending it is? Receiver privacy is trash and private channels can be derived.

Look at all these inconveniences that come with LN that you conveniently leave out:

Reliance on middlemen nodes for succesful routing and cheapest fees,

illusion of final settlement,

need capacity to recieve,

can't send modestly large amounts,

both parties must be online to transact,

can be rugged if your node isn't active,

can be force closed onto the base chain against your will.

..and it still overpromises on scaling!!! 🤦‍♂️

Darknet markets are increasingly moving to Monero-only.

The main thing that Monero compromises on to obtain privacy is the ease of auditing the supply.

Everything is a trade off including Bitcoin and building on layers. You make sacrifices there too (arguably worse trade offs)

You can send 0-conf transactions which are 99.9% safe relative to Bitcoin because Monero doesn't have RBF

Great. Monero has been a bad SoV compared to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a bad MoE compared to Monero (very low tx fees, strong default privacy, and real world fungibility). Trade offs like you say.

You don't know anyone that uses it because you are in your maxi bubble. I don't know a single person IRL that uses Bitcoin or Monero. 99.9% of the world doesn't know or care about Bitcoin.

Monero is the premier currency of the freenet markets and many white market merchants that accept Bitcoin also accept Monero.

It's simpler to just plainly say you don't like Monero because you don't like it. You don't have to lie or mislead others about the facts.

Who the fuck cares anyways. I use it to pay my VPN or VPS hosting service if there is no LN option. Use the tools wisely. Good news is more an more sites offer LN payment options but requires more work to make the payment anonymous (own node, funded with no-KYC BTC etc.)
