I always tell people to do this.
To switch to a serious talk, isn't it enough to sign the transaction but not broadcast it as a test? So you avoid messing the chain of your new wallet and save a couple transactions in fee.
I think if you’re able sign and verify a transaction, you probably don’t need to send it. I don’t think most people understand to that depth what’s happening. The majority will understand why it’s important to send the transaction back and forth though.
