I really don't want to shitcoin but Bitcoin doesn't support NFTs and tokens yet in the capacity we need.

Forgive me plebs.

- Liquid literally "isn't interested in supporting NFTs". Elixir does a great job but the infrastructure is too much for my org to take on.

- Counterparty is an eyesore and not production ready. "DM us for docs" is not acceptable.

- Onboarding to RSK would be difficult. We don't want to create our own wallet just to have a good experience.

- Stacks - running our own parallel chain is a ridiculous notion just to run an app. Proof of burn is anathema to me.

- RGB - sounds dope, but still in dev and unavailable to test. Might be too decentralized for a game to function properly.

- Taro - I am freaking out about how cool Taro is but we might be years out from an implementation. I am looking to go live in less than a year.

I was having beers with some lightning labs folks yesterday and they mentioned that Taro only supported NFT collections not individual NFTs. I had no idea what they were talking about as I still have yet to penetrate the Taro BIPs

Interesting. Same here. Also, I'm really jealous (in a good way)! I want to meet these amazing people too! 😁

Modified RGB over nostr FTW

Wow that would be epic.

I really wish I could dive into RGB and some of these other things but I just don't have the time right now. They have developer calls which are interesting. Wish their website had more info.

Dont even really need full RGB to get going. You have ownership rights with schnorr signatures, which is like bitcoin.

Then you have on-chain commitments via single use seals, and that can be a nostr tag. So nostr contracts can be committed

Start simple and build more

I've done a lot of research and these are the current-day options for NFTs and tokens on Bitcoin. None of them work for my use case. I honestly think the Taro protocol will make all other cryptos obsolete. But that day is timelocked to the indeterminate future...

Many Bitcoiners reject the notion of building tokens and NFTs out of hand without understanding that if Bitcoin gains this ability, it will make every other crypto immediately obsolete (unless you need turing-completeness, lol). Taro pretty much does this.
