This is my first sprain and first time using comfrey. I guess I need to try and make a poultice. Thank you

What you’re doing does eventually work. This just gets you back in the saddle almost immediately. I have an old food processor, and I dump some hot water over the leaves to wilt them a bit and grind it up. I expected it to be more solid and stay put. It’s more like pudding than other poultices I’ve used, and that’s ok. I put it in a sandwich bag or some Saran Wrap, and just wrap my foot up in it and watch a movie.
Depending on which sprain you have, make sure it gets right on the ligament that needs it as well as the soft tissue that’s most affected. If that makes sense, the sprain is in the ligament that ties bone to muscle, so the entire length of that affected muscle can benefit from packing as well.

Amazingly, any tissue the leaves were touching were no longer swollen. I’m now a believer. Tonight I’ll make a poultice like you say because I’ll be walking around the woods all weekend in a hunt. I need to turbo charge the healing.
This is the way 🚀😎🙏🫂🤝 #comfrey
