There should be a fee of 10 sats to DM anyone. If your text is expected, they can zap u right back. It’ll control spam.

Honestly I would leave the place if I have to zap people and then they zap back. I am here for random chat. If it turns in the next problematic place,.better to go back chatting by radio.
So you’d rather want people to randomly text you like you get spam texts and calls on your phone ?
I’d gladly pay to prevent spammers.
I don't care. If they text me I answer. If they get offensive I ban them. I buy nothing anyway so they can call me how much they want. I get no spam on my emails and phone numbers because I do not use them to register any account plus they would not understand where I am from and where I live. I am not an interesting customer unless they sell spare parts, old electronics or perhaps seed, metals or tools.
Complicated things do not work. Just ban spammers
Banning spammers is a blanket statement which won’t work on nostr.

I really like the idea of everything being a 1-10 sat transaction. It should be negligible, but enough to require some effort. It makes sense to me, in theory, but how to build that…not a clue.
