I can relate. I once thought this too. And TBH … the maxis preaching (with miners at top?) still make me wonder. Also… nothing wrong with a little MLM if that’s what you’re into. I know some people who do quite well.

Bitcoin is a MLM, multiple layers money
Everyone comes to education on different topics in their own time, but the immediate condemnation from your date without understanding would have turned me off. I'm thankful to have one partner fully in support of BTC. My other partner is freedom minded in some aspects, but has a mental hurdle with money not insured by FDIC.
