But I thought Laeserin had a point about how they affect incoming npubs. So I had a thought and posted it, but I prefer to keep my attention elsewhere. It's tricky. The chances of someone with a larger presence responding to or liking a reply is already exponentially higher than any other social & likely temporary. Helping new, active users (as in noters, not lurkers) to understand that community building means participation is the real hurdle, or at least that's how I see it.

Trending, highlights, etc definitely have their place as far as joining & retention go. Prepopulated follow lists might not be the best longterm idea but it fixed the empty feed issue for the time, so maybe that will graduate into a suggestion list eventually. Idk... my ability to comprehend far outstrips my ability to do so I'm basically useless 😂
