Has he ever brought suit in the US other than the Kleiman case? I have a feeling he avoids our legal system for a reason.

Yes. The UK system is awful on the issues. There's a reason that venue was chosen.

Yes

I haven’t read into the specifics of the suit against the devs but do you know what qualifies the UK to have jurisdiction over the case?

How can they enforce the core parts thought? Can’t the miners and nodes refuse to accept any changes to the code/fork or even count those blocks as invalid? They can force the devs to be compliant, but they can’t force the decentralization to do the same. It’s a deadend for him if we play it right.

Anyway we could use nostr to support these people? Sure we could rally some sats against faketoshi

Fighting the case with the Bitcoin Developer Defense Fund we (Alex Morcos and I) set up and funded some time ago to defend these developers. Considering opening fund to allow others to contribute.

But I think current path is going to be quite costly.

Open it up! Lots of others would love to contribute what they can. Would be interesting to see a bot that posts about it daily with all zaps going to defense fund

Definitely open it up 😉

Thanks Jack, and god bless you. Let us know when you open the fund to others, happy to contribute.

as nostr has no headquarters where would anyone sue?

not possible

if the developers keep private

The Tornado dev should be helped by bitcoiners.

Yes, the danger is that he has the money to keep using the corrupt legal system to his advantage, whereas the devs don't have the money for the high powered lawyers. I donated to Hodlnaut for his defence, but more needs to be done .

It’s definitely keeping people from contributing to bitcoin core and maybe more. Could mean even worse things for general open source projects.

I think all Bitcoiners need to understand he is the enemy of Bitcoin and a danger to the whole network and we must all collaborate and fighting this parasite.

That’s bad, but maybe only a hardening of the development layer in the long run. I would feel safer with anon devs anyway. Better to get this loser as the attack and not the state.
