Tell him that that is not right, it tramples freedoms and hurts everyone

(He is also a retard probably, but because he is your neighbor you ought to try convince him it is a bad idea and of course you should now have chickens in your backyard just to make the point to him that you will not comply with such a future policy)

I prefer to live where permits are not required.

"Permit"

Anarchicken lol

Not condoning a permit, but roosters can be annoying. I wouldn’t have any if I had nearby neighbors

Good grief! Why?!

To clarify it was a "recommendation" from the planning committee for zones that aren't allowed chickens currently. That being said, i'm still aiming to take her appointment to the planning comission now because it should have been a recommendation to abolish anti-food freedom laws.

Oh, so the permit would allow people currently not allowed to keep chickens to keep them? That’s better but agreed they should just remove sill anti-human rules instead of making you ask for your God given rights to be returned to you by the government

Not at all better. It would set a precendent that the county can issue permits for chickens. And most gove programs don't shrink. Need to be more radical to move the needle.

Good point

Hope this is a chance for you to help move that needle

What? Thats insane to me. Whats the argument against unlicensed or undocumented chickens/crops for noncommercial/civilian purposes?

“It would establish a tracking mechanism with a name, address, if there was ever an issue,” Kozel said

The argument I've received was it's just for residential zones. But if you understand history the govt creep won't stop there.

I came home from work recently to a note on my door that animal control had been to my house and that my chickens needed to be contained. They were in their coop at the time.

I called Monday and was informed that zoning had been changed and they were unsure whether my neighborhood had been included in those no longer zoned for chickens. But the person at animal control had no idea and had to call another department. I informed him that we had an ongoing issue with a neighbor that just doesn't like that we have chickens and that my chickens weren't a problem for anyone but her. He called me a few hours later to inform me that I was in zone for chickens and was actually 4 chickens shy of the limit so guess who's getting more chickens. Fuck that neighbor.

Good

I have a better idea. Mosquito permits. If you don’t get the permit you can’t have any mosquitos

The chickens in the yard? And not directly in the house? 🤔

Yes
