GM, yesterday evening my aunt, my moms sister 73 years old called me. She wanted more bitcoin. I once paid the meat she got for us in bitcoin a couple of years ago. She tracked the price in her muunwallet for the past years. But she was always skeptical and critical of my “extreme believe” as she named it.

Her reaching out to buy bitcoin for her grandchildren feels like a major achievement for me.

This year I’ve seen more and more “old” people become very skeptical about the euro and the future of their euro in the banks in general.

If bitcoin also becomes boomer tech we are up for a major inflow. The current mainstream news, constant war pondering and European war bonds apparently help shift their minds towards this alternative.

When looking at books sales we still see a constant daily sales of the Dutch translation of the bitcoin standard. Very clearly people are investigating at much larger scale than 2 years ago. I don’t know about you, but once you dive in, you don’t run back.

Gotta share the good news!

Zap test on this note… we made seven attempts to⚡zap this note, at insertzaphere@minibits.cash, over a period of about 13 hours. All seven attempts were successful. You should check on your end to be sure you received these. Average zap time was 5510ms (5.5 seconds). We consider this zap time slow... generally, zaps should complete in under two seconds. (Other Nostr users might think your zaps are broken, might not zap you again.) We recommend you receive zaps with a well-connected, cloud-based Lightning node to reduce inbound zap latency.

Good morning!

Hi bert 🏴‍☠️😉🤟 nice to meet you 🤝

That’s a huge win and a powerful reflection of how Bitcoin is gradually shifting people’s perspectives, especially those who were once skeptical. It’s interesting to see the generational shift as more people, even later in life, begin to question traditional financial systems. The uncertainty surrounding fiat currencies, especially with inflation and geopolitical tensions, is making Bitcoin a more attractive option for many. The ongoing interest in books like The Bitcoin Standard proves that education is spreading, and once people grasp Bitcoin’s value proposition, it’s hard to turn back. If Bitcoin does indeed become “boomer tech,” it could unlock an entirely new wave of adoption especially when trust in traditional banking and fiat currencies continues to erode. We’re definitely seeing the early signs of something bigger on the horizon.
