Can anyone explain the network game theory implications of a bad actor spinning up tens of thousands of nodes on AWS?
Discussion
In a general sense could try to island off honest nodes. This could result in those nodes who only connect to such to not see all txs or block propagation. This in turn can create problems for them if they are running lightning with dishonest peers. Some network logic helps prevent this though
I would like to understand this, but I do not π
no, im a left curve moron.
my guess is simply optics. but the whole debate seems like optics to me from all sides. "the other side are wrong and stupid and my side is right and smart"
99% of rational argument is and has been gone for a while.
now im going to say the no-no thing:
it really doesn't matter what people run lol.
no one pays attention to someone that no one's paying attention to
We can run filters to avoid them if they do another like very slow upload limits to prevent new legitimate nodes IBD. If they hard fork then none of the legitimate nodes will connect to them anyway. Itβs not a critical attack in my uneducated and stupid pleb opinion.
Never underestimate the lengths a male ego will go to, in order to make a point.
