Intermediate barbell powerlifting program. I started lifting about 10 years ago (I think?), but had some major health issues over the past 3.5, unsurprisingly starting with when we had twins. I had surgery earlier this year, finally was able to start lifting again, did Stronglifts (novice program) to get some of my strength back, and then transitioned to MadCow so I didn't kill myself.

It's a 3-day-a-week program, heavily squat focused, and instead of doing max lifts for every set, mostly focuses on progressive weights throughout each session. I was planning on doing it for maintenance instead of strength gains, but since I switched over my numbers have shot up way more than they did on Stronglifts.

Sorry to hear about health stuff, not good. I have ongoing issues with my Achilles 😔. I'm struggling with any kind of consistency at the moment...sounds like you have found your sweet spot! 💪

Thanks. I had blocked sinus passages that led to chronic sinus infections. The surgery opened up those passages, and now I’m almost 100% recovered. Feels good man

What’s up with your Achilles? Depending on the situation, lacrosse ball massage may help. I ordered a foot massager from AliExpress, it’s not pleasant, but helped give me some extra Achilles tendon flexibility.

Haglunds deformity. A knobbly deformity on the back of my heel. Painful. Remedy is same as for Achilles tendon rehab but I am rubbish at consistently doing it😔🫣. There is a surgery but the recovery is a nightmare with foot in a boot for ages etc.

Oh man. That sucks. I’m sorry to hear it

Ta. I'll sort it eventually.....
