"without further ado" is such a useless phrase, why not just skip it entirely and get to the point?

Theatrics? 🎭

“song intros are useless, why not just have the drops”

That's totally different. But imagine if all song intros were exactly the same (that's Pablo's point)

not everybody uses that? maybe in the corporate world, where it actually is the same song by different artists

Here someone already fix one

It gives a dramatic touch 🤌🏻

Same with "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" 😂

pomp and circumstance

The same logic for - "getting to the point"

Why not just skip it and say the point 😉

Yesssss!!!! Sheesh I've been saying this for years in the podcasting space.

It lets your audience know that you realize you just caused a bunch of ado and are now planning to stop being an asshole.

Because if you're ado-ing then you need to indicate when you're stopping.

I always took it as a subtle hint to the remainder of the room that may throw in their two sats the shut up and get to it.

Pablo dislikes idioms

rhythm, preparation, rhetorical flourish are not always necessary, they are optional and sometimes aesthetically pleasurable

Lets go

Blame Shakespeare. Words for the sake of words to fill time and space.

It’s all about building the suspense before cutting to the chase.

"Perhaps, for example, the reason for the delay is to heighten anticipation. Much like in a show, a touch of suspense, could actually enhance the eagerness to witness the event. This way, when it does begin, it will be greeted with even greater enthusiasm." ?

So true 😃

It signals to the listener that “the point” is about to be reached, so they should start paying attention now.

Wouldn’t it be better to not ramble on and lose the attention of the listener before?
