Your post to reply ratio says everything about how you use Nostr.
If you only post and wait for people to find you, you are living in the fiat world. There's no central algorithm to carry your posts to strangers.
The only way people discover your work is if you show up for them first. It's this beautiful forcing function for you to go out and make real connections.
Maybe this is why the vibe on Nostr is so much different.

I like to reply to an interesting or funny post, but I use NOSTR to shout into the void plenty too. If I was looking for an audience I’d post cleavage shots (not my own though). I’m about 800 posts and 550 replies
Nostr is damn good for that too
I made a by the numbers post that compared my X, Mastodon and NOSTR profiles and it was just as you would expect since you are already here.
Mastodon had about the same follower count with 2x the posts of NOSTR
X had about 60% of the followers in 6x the posts of NOSTR
NOSTR is all signal.
In other words: shitpost harder.
If you post it, they will come
This makes complete sense but I never thought of it this way!
I think its only a matter of time until clients begin experimenting with algorithms.
But clients won’t be incentivized to ragebait users for engagement. Nostr algo feeds will simply be smart and show you shit based on your actual interests. And clients will compete against each other with their algo feeds since users have choice.
It’s gonna be beautiful a game theory play out.
