If you're new to Nostr and/or haven't joined a social network in a long time, a quick tip is that any social network is only as good as you make it. You need to follow a lot of people, even if you don't know them, and put in the work to engage on people's posts. Other people will see you interacting and follow you back. And since this is Nostr, we'll even be friendly, helpful, and send you some Zaps too! In short, it's only a ghost town if you want it to be.

Very true. It’s hard coming from platforms that essentially serve you up things on a plate via the algos. Takes a while to get back in to the swing of providing real interaction, as if you were in a casual group conversation.
Also I think it’s fine for people to feel like they don’t have to provide mind blowing feedback and input.

Definitely agree. Took me a while to start to 'break through' with Nostr, I am nowhere near where I am with Twitter yet, but it's worth it. I had my Twitter account suspended for a few days a few months back (for talking about this place, since Elon is a very insecure man), and I saw how although I put many hours into it, it was never really mine. I think Bitcoiners who 'don't get' Nostr don't want to put in the work of being equal again and re-gaining followers. Maybe they are worried it won't happen. Nostr values different things, can't get big on Nostr just dunking on Bitcoiners and making nothing.

Good advice. It's all what you make it
One thing that would make Nostr more usable, apart from being able to find other people based on their interests, would be having a way to categorize the people you follow in various ways. At the moment you just have one massive feed. While that might make sense for a user base that is only interested in cryptocurrencies, so you can assume that that's what they're all talking about, in the real world you have different groups of friends associated with different interests, and what they are talking about makes sense only in respect of the purpose of the group.
If Nostr is to grow it has to be more accessible to people who have focuses other than bitcoin, and indeed have many different types of discussion they want to be having with different people, in the context of those discussions. It needs to facilitate that.

This is the key. On Nostr it’s very easy to get started. Most of the people know Bitcoin and are interested in the blockchain industry, so it makes even easier for me.
This is good advice, I will try it out… I am new here, just a week on nostr, sometimes I thought nostr is a desert full of loners. But you are right, posting content is not everything, you also need to give people feedback. 🙂👍🏻🙋🏻♂️
