I keep running into people calling for censorship and content moderation on Nostr.

You fucking mouth breathers aren't getting the point!

The nostr protocol as defined in the nips repo seems to be fast and loose with little thought given when adding things. Very different from Bitcoin. It’s already messy and going to get worse. Not all clients will be fully compatible and the nips repo will probably fork a lot.

Right now all the different clients pretty much do the same things. That will change as different NIPs get integrated into different clients.

Same goes for relays.
