Admittedly, I never saw it. I'd be happy to watch it at home, but it's definitely not the highest on my list.
That said, I did hear several people, men and women, saying they quite enjoyed it. And, like you said, that many people missed the point.
It was very different than what I expected. I’m still honestly surprised that Mattel signed off on it.
